Readers Ride
Paul shows how a few little mods can give a great result
 
Here’s Paul’s Vsett 8 (well, his son’s, actually - Paul has a Vsett 9, 10 and 11 for himself!). Adding an accessory bar/kiddy bar has provided a mount for the 2 extra front lights (from KMart, one blue and one red). Add some adhesive wrap with a funky pattern to the stem, and also some cut shapes of deck grip, and you have a groovy ride that pops!

Super-duper Riding Routes
 
After a great weekend at the Waterbourne Festival in Mount Maunganui, I have to give a shout out to the boardwalk and cycle lane heading along the coast road from The Mount to Papamoa beach. For sunshine and sea views, this takes some beating! Just make sure you chuck the scooter in the car next time you head to the Bay.

Dualtron City
 
In the ‘New and Hot’ category this month, we are delighted to showcase the Dualtron City. A bold departure from the usual hot-rod scooter that DT are famous for, the City is an accomplished, safe, and comfortable commuter. 15” wheels, removable battery, indicators, and the smoothest ride imaginable. It’s no flyweight, and it's as long as a wet weekend in a leaky caravan, but these attributes also make it feel so stable and comfortable to ride that you can forgive the compromise in portability.

Safety Tips

Ride hands-on. Glue your hands to the bars if you have to. But seriously, just don’t take your hands off when you are moving, ever. Small scooter wheels change direction easily, and the majority of injuries we see are from riders crashing when losing control from riding one-handed (usually waving!)
