Teverun have emerged as one of the leading performance-value brands, sharing a good deal of componentry and design direction with Dualtron, their Mini-Motors stablemate, whilst offering competitive pricing matched to outstanding performance.
The Teverun Fighter 11 is definitely one of the ‘Big Dog’ rides out there, boasting a peak output of 5000watts, and tarmac-tearing torque to haul ass off the line! For the rider seeking a thrill-a-minute sports ride, you need look no further.
The 11” tyres (also self-sealing) offer an unsurpassed level of confidence and grip, and allow you to really explore those exciting cornering angles, while soaking up the bumps admirably.
Plenty of suspension range supports the bigger rider, and for those seeking a tall and wide scooter for a comfortable and ergonomic ride for the larger owner, this will fit the bill perfectly.
The TFT screen is bright and visible in all light conditions, a big step forward from screens of the past and putting competitors (literally) in the shade.
Naturally, there are high-visibility LED’s throughout the platform, making this a great be-safe-be-seen option for night riding.
The perfect performance scooter for those who want it all, and for a fantastic price!
This scooter is an absolute beast, acceleration is crazy, you really have to hold on in sport mode and lean forward or you’ll likely be sent off the back, I am quite a heavy guy and this thing still hauls with powerful dual 1600w motors. The suspension is nice and smooth. The damper really helps with the stability and even at higher speeds this thing feels really planted. Build quality is great and overall it’s great powerful scooter that just wants to go!

How to Choose the Best Electric Scooter in NZ for Your Needs Choosing the right electric scooter in New Zealand depends on various factors. However, with a few points in mind, you can find the perfect match for your needs: 1. Consider Your Commute: Think about the distance you need to travel. If it’s short, a standard commuter scooter will do. For longer distances, look for models with extended battery life. 2. Check the Scooter's Speed: If you need to get places quickly, consider scooters with higher speeds. However, make sure the speed is safe and legal for where you’ll be riding. 3. Evaluate the Weight: Lightweight scooters are easier to carry and fold. This is great for people who need to transport their scooter on buses or trains. 4. Look at the Terrain: For smooth city streets, a basic model will suffice. If you plan to ride on rough paths or hills, choose an off-road scooter with strong tyres and suspension. 5. Assess the Battery Life: Avoid running out of power by choosing a scooter with a battery range that matches your travel needs. High-capacity batteries are essential for long commutes or multiple trips. 6. Examine the Build Quality: Durable materials ensure your scooter lasts longer. Check for sturdy frames, quality tyres, and strong brakes. 7. Safety Features: Look for scooters with good brakes, lights, and reflectors. Safety is crucial, especially if you ride at night or in busy areas. 8. Additional Features: Features like LED displays, mobile app compatibility, and different riding modes can enhance your riding experience. Decide which features are important to you. 9. Budget: Electric scooters come in various price ranges. Determine your budget and look for the best options within it. More expensive scooters often offer better performance and features. By considering these factors, you can find an electric scooter that fits your lifestyle and makes your commutes more enjoyable and efficient. Features to Look for in a High-Quality Escooter in NZ When buying a high-quality electric scooter in New Zealand, it's important to consider certain features. These features ensure the scooter is durable, safe, and suitable for your needs. 1. Strong Motor: A powerful motor, measured in watts, ensures smooth rides and the ability to climb hills. For city use, 300-500 watts might be enough. However, for off-road or hilly areas, look for 800 watts or more, and preferably a dual-motor configuration 2. Long Battery Life: A good battery lets you travel longer distances without needing to recharge. Check the battery range to match your daily commute or intended use. Lithium-ion batteries typically offer better range and durability. 3. Durable Frame: High-quality materials like aluminium or carbon fibre make the frame strong yet lightweight. This ensures the scooter withstands daily wear and tear. 4. Reliable Brakes: Safety is key, so make sure the escooter has strong, reliable brakes. Disc brakes, electric brakes, or drum brakes offer good stopping power. Some scooters have a combination of these for added safety. Hydraulic disc brakes will provide the ultimate stopping power for your e-scooter. 5. Comfortable Wheels: Wheels affect the comfort and stability of your ride. Larger wheels and pneumatic tyres provide a smoother ride and better grip. Solid rubber tyres are puncture-resistant but may offer a bumpier ride. 6. Good Suspension: Suspension systems absorb shocks from rough terrain. Front and rear suspension improve ride quality, especially on uneven paths. 7. Bright Lights: Look for bright LED lights at the front and rear. These help you see and be seen in low-light conditions, improving safety during night rides. 8. Clear Display: An easy-to-read display shows important information like speed, battery level, and distance covered. This keeps you informed while riding. 9. Solid Build Quality: High-quality screws, welds, and parts ensure the scooter's durability. Avoid scooters with flimsy components that may break easily. 10. Water Resistance: Weather in New Zealand can be unpredictable. Water-resistant escooters can handle light rain or wet conditions without damage. A high-quality escooter in NZ should combine these features to offer a safe, comfortable, and reliable ride. Electric Scooter Laws and Regulations in NZ It's important to know the rules and regulations when riding an electric scooter in New Zealand. Here are key points you need to be aware of: 1. Legal Riding Age: In New Zealand, the minimum age to ride an electric scooter is 14 years old. This ensures that riders have the maturity and physical capability to handle the scooter safely. 2. Helmet Requirements: While helmets are not legally required for e-scooter riders on footpaths, it is strongly recommended to wear one to protect yourself in case of an accident. On the road, wearing a helmet is mandatory. 3. Speed Limits: E-scooters are often subject to speed limits. Typically, the maximum speed allowed on footpaths and shared paths is 15 km\/h. On the road, you must adhere to the posted speed limits. 4. Road Use: E-scooters can be used on footpaths, shared paths, and cycle paths. When riding on the road, you must follow the same rules as bicycles. This includes stopping at red lights, giving way at crossings, and using signals when turning. 5. Footpath Etiquette: When riding on footpaths, always give way to pedestrians. Ride at a safe speed, and be ready to stop if needed. Use your bell or horn to alert others of your presence. 6. Lights and Reflectors: If you plan to ride your e-scooter at night or in low-light conditions, you must have a white light on the front and a red light on the rear. Reflectors on the sides and back of the escooter also improve visibility. 7. Alcohol and Drug Use: Just like with cars, riding an electric scooter under the influence of alcohol or drugs is illegal. It’s essential to stay sober to operate your scooter safely. 8. Parking Rules: When you're not using your e-scooter, park it responsibly. Avoid obstructing footpaths, entrances, or public transport stops. Some cities have designated parking areas for e-scooters. 9. Insurance and Registration: Electric scooters do not currently require registration or insurance in New Zealand. However, having personal liability insurance could be beneficial. By understanding and following these laws and regulations, you can enjoy a safe and legal e-scooter ride in NZ. Tips for First-Time E-Scooter Riders in NZ If you're new to riding an e-scooter in New Zealand, here are some tips to help you get started safely and confidently: 1. Start Slow: Begin with slow speeds to get a feel for the scooter. Most models have different speed settings. Use the lowest one until you’re comfortable. 2. Wear Safety Gear: Always wear a helmet to protect your head. Protective pads for knees and elbows can also help prevent injuries. 3. Check Your Scooter: Before each ride, check the brakes, tyres, and battery. Make sure everything is in good working condition to avoid problems during your ride. 4. Learn the Controls: Familiarise yourself with the throttle, brakes, and any other controls. Practice using them in a safe, open area before heading out on busy streets. 5. Use Both Hands: Always keep both hands on the handlebars. This gives you better control and stability while riding. 6. Stay Visible: Wear bright or reflective clothing to make yourself more visible to others. Use lights if riding at night or in low-light conditions. 7. Follow the Rules: Obey all traffic rules and signs. This includes stopping at pedestrian crossings and traffic lights, and signalling when you turn. 8. Be Aware of Your Surroundings: Always look ahead and be aware of your surroundings. Watch out for pedestrians, cars, and other obstacles on your path. 9. Use Bike Lanes: Whenever possible, use designated bike lanes. They are safer than riding on the road with cars. 10. Practice Braking: Learn how to use both the front and rear brakes effectively. Practice braking smoothly to avoid sudden stops that could throw you off balance. 11. Keep a Safe Distance: Maintain a safe distance from other vehicles and pedestrians. This gives you enough time to react if someone suddenly changes direction. 12. Park Responsibly: When you’re done with your ride, park your e-scooter in a safe, legal spot where it won’t block pathways or entrances. By following these tips, you can have a safe and enjoyable experience riding your e-scooter in New Zealand. Essential Maintenance Tips for Your Electric Scooter in NZ Maintaining your electric scooter in New Zealand is crucial for its longevity and performance. Here are some essential maintenance tips to keep your e-scooter in top condition: 1. Regularly Check Tyres: Inspect the tyres for wear and tear. Ensure they are properly inflated to the recommended pressure. Replace tyres if they become too worn to ensure safety and smooth rides. 2. Keep It Clean: Wipe down your e-scooter regularly to remove dirt and grime. A clean scooter not only looks good but also helps you spot any potential issues. Use a damp cloth and avoid getting water into electrical components. 3. Battery Care: Charge the battery properly. Avoid letting it drain completely before recharging. Lithium-ion batteries last longer when kept within 20-80% charge. Store the scooter in a cool, dry place when not in use. 4. Brake Maintenance: Ensure the brakes are functioning correctly. Regularly check for wear on brake pads and adjust them if they feel loose. Replace worn-out pads to maintain strong stopping power. 5. Tighten Bolts and Nuts: Periodically check all bolts and nuts to make sure they are tight. Vibrations from riding can cause them to loosen over time, so tightening them helps keep your scooter stable and secure. 6. Lubricate Moving Parts: Lubricate the moving parts of your scooter, such as the chain and folding mechanism. This keeps the parts moving smoothly and prevents rust. 7. Adjust the Suspension: If your scooter has a suspension system, check and adjust it as needed to ensure it absorbs shocks effectively. 8. Regular Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of your scooter’s electrical systems, including the motor and lights. Look for any signs of damage or wear and address them promptly. 9. Store Properly: When not in use, store your scooter in a dry, sheltered place. Avoid exposing it to rain or extreme temperatures, which can damage the components. Following these maintenance tips helps ensure your electric scooter remains in excellent condition, providing you with a safe and enjoyable ride every time. Regular Use: Use your scooter regularly to keep the battery active. Batteries perform better when used consistently rather than remaining dormant for too long. 5. Safe Storage: If you won't use your scooter for an extended period, store it with the battery partly charged, around 50-70%. Store in a cool, dry place. 6. Smooth Riding: Accelerating smoothly and maintaining a steady speed uses less battery power. Avoid frequent starts and stops to conserve energy. 7. Lightweight Loads: Carrying heavy loads can drain the battery faster. Try to keep your scooter light to maximise battery efficiency. 8. Maintain Tyre Pressure: Properly inflated tyres reduce rolling resistance and help your battery last longer. Check tyre pressure regularly and keep them at the recommended level. 9. Use Eco Mode: Many e-scooters have an eco mode. This setting reduces the speed slightly but extends battery life. Use eco mode for longer rides. 10.
