Interested in Interest-Free? Learn how it works, here:
Who is this for? It's for anyone who qualifies for a credit card, and doesn’t want to pay the full amount in one go for their purchase.
How does it work? You will apply for a credit card with Q-Mastercard, through the link below. They are a third-party credit provider, unconnected to our business. 1 in 3 Kiwis have Q-Mastercard.
What do I get? When approved, you receive a physical card, and account with your number and borrowing capacity, which you use to purchase your scooter or bike. You are charged no payments or interest for 6 months.
What happens after the interest-free period? This is where they get you, and you need to be smart about it. We strongly suggest you do make payments, (think about using the savings from not driving the car to pay off your scooter or bike), and finalise your payments BEFORE any interest is due.
Should I keep the card? Up to you, it's yours. But if you are not disciplined about paying off during the interest-free period, the interest will start to add up fast once it starts. We recommend cutting up your card after buying your scooter, AND setting a reminder to cancel it before the renewal date (to avoid a renewal fee). Think of it just as a payment plan for this purchase only.
Can I apply in-store? You can, but the majority of our customers prefer the privacy of applying from home, using the link below. Sometimes you will be asked to supply additional details, depending on your credit history.
Do I pay online in your store with it? No. Online works but will only allow 3 months interest free. We are working on changing that, but right now, we need to process your payment through our desktop in-store to give you a longer period interest-free. We can do that over the phone if you are out of Auckland.
How do I apply: You can apply online here via the Q Card official website.
